Raymond Jahaly is a seasoned financial services executive with diverse experience in accounting, operations management, finance, compliance, and business development across big four public accounting, private investment funds, financial services companies and global prime brokerage businesses.
Ray Jahaly, CPA started his career at Price Waterhouse in their Financial Services Industry Practice where he served as a senior accountant conducting audit engagements. His clients were primarily global investment banks, asset managers and boutique securities firms.
Mr. Jahaly then joined Morgan Stanley’s Prime Brokerage business where he delivered a core offering of portfolio accounting, back office solutions and financing to hedge funds. His clients were multi-billion dollar alternative investment managers trading long/short equity, macro and event driven strategies. During his tenure at the firm, he became part of Morgan’s Capital Introductions team as one of its early members. There he developed relationships with institutional investors allocating to hedge funds and advised funds on various aspects of their marketing and business development objectives. Mr. Jahaly moved to Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse performing similar functions and served as the Co-Head of US Capital Introductions at Lehman. He was significantly involved in new business procurement and servicing the needs of existing clients.
Mr. Jahaly also served as head of sales for NewOak Capital which provided advisory services focused on litigation consulting, independent valuation and risk management for illiquid and structured credit investments. His clients were a diverse set of financial services companies. While at NewOak, Mr. Jahaly was part of the management team that launched the NewOak SJ-MAC Funds which entered the firm into the asset management space. He served as Chief Operating Officer for the funds and worked extensively with auditors, fund administration, legal counsel and advisors on fund structuring, regulatory compliance and tax matters. He also provided oversight to the accounting department, coordinated with key vendor relationships and was the main liaison with fund governance.
Additionally, Mr. Jahaly has significant experience working for start ups and emerging firms in the specialty finance and alternative investments fields serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. He focused on operational and infrastructure build out, development and implementation of accounting frameworks, operations work flow, budget and policies.
